Product Description

THE KNOT ARTIST is a startling, erotic political thriller whose unique heroine is Dominique - the most costly dominatrix on the East Coast -- a character who will mesmerize you. Dominique’s view of men, women and society is dark, original and hilarious. When something goes terribly wrong in her Bridgehampton dungeon with a U.S. Senator involved in Cuban-American relations, Dominique finds herself attracted to the mysterious international security expert who appears to handle the problem – and whose life is even more about control than her own.

Reviews

“This is a true graphic novel without the drawings - pretty terrific because “The Knot Artist” has got that edge. It is not at all what I expected! And the surprise of that was worth the read itself! It's very Dan Brown, with a little less religion and a lot more kink. My thought is that if people allow themselves to read it, it'll be a huge cult seller. The first-person voice makes it very aggressive & intimate & sexual - and I am wondering who will be bold enough to be seen holding it?”

“This is a fascinating timely erotic political thriller that goes deep into the S&M fetish world in which men of power pay large amounts of money to be a Sub to a discreet Dom. The key to this entertaining tale that twists from the dungeon to political intrigue is that India Wilson avoids moral condemnation of the BDSM crowd. The fast-paced story line is at its best when entering the dungeon and India’s panic over what to do. Her past with her sister enhances the erotic elements as the audience learns how Dominique got to where she is. Although the spin into a taut international political intrigue subplot adds plenty of well-written suspense, this also takes the audience away from the thrilling visits to the dungeon.”

THE KNOT ARTIST eBook India Wilson Reviews

India Wilson's writing is fresh and exciting. The Knot Artist is a story about Dominique; one high-price and very good dominatrix. So much so that she has politicians and other important people as her clients. I wasn't sure what to expect but India describes Dominique's dungeon which such detail, I don't think she left anything out. One can learn a lot about the S&M world just by this alone. Regarding the story line (without adding spoilers), it has to do with a certain client and his interests. Although, labeled a political thriller, I see it more as a political drama with a whole lot of masochism thrown in!
I have to admit that I was very pleasantly surprised by this book and India Wilson's writing. The story revolves around a high-priced dominatrix. Right there, you might expect erotica, with endless pages of explicit sex. If that's what you want, don't look here.

The Knot Artist is a look at what drives human behavior. There are explicit scenes but they come from a place of psychological observation, rather than an aim at arousing. The characters are vivid and feel quite real, the plot well formed. While there is political intrigue, we don't get so wrapped up in that aspect that we lose the characters (or get bored). This is a truly powerful story.
I am at awe with this book. I am very choosy about the books I read and I absolutely LOVE this one. I indulge in reading, I fantasize, I have fun with it, I don't just read to read ;)
It IS very intense, exciting and erotic, but I like it that way ...and I get a few chuckles, a few "knee slappers" and also a downright ROFL. These are "just what you need", just at the right moment in each chapter, to get you loosened up and keep reading.

If I didn't force myself put the book down, I wouldn't lol, but "life" and responsibilities take precedence over pleasure & fantasy ;)

It IS a Pleasure, a great learning experience and a great "get~away" to read this book )
Thank you for sharing it with me )
This was a very good book. It tells the story of a Dominatrix and her clients and really gives us a look at what goes through both their minds. Of course something bad happens to a client and that's where the 'fun' begins.

I enjoyed reading about how Dominique got into the business. Getting into her head was interesting and now at all what you would think. She's not a freak, she is a person doing a job that people want done and doing it quite well.

For me, it was a little boring in the beginning but soon got going. The flashback scenes with Dominique and her sister were very hard to read at times. Abuse of any kind is never an easy thing to read about but it helped in explaining the whys of the plot.

Inside the covers of this book you will find a story that is not really what you think it's going to be. There is of course sex and not your run of the mill 'vanilla' sex so keep that in mind if such things offend you. There are nasty politics and yes, even a bit of romance.

Very good mystery that I would recommend to any mystery lover who is not turned off by a little kinky sex.
She knows she is numero uno with affluent clients who satiate their bondage fetish by paying big bucks in cash to enter her dungeon in the Hamptons. Besides the money that enables her to reside in a large Manhattan loft, Dominique loves recognition as a Goddess worshiped by men whose adulation makes her the most desired dominatrix on the East Coast.

Her clients include Connecticut CEO Fred "pretty girl" Naughton and US Senator from Maryland Thomas Milliam who increasingly demands more from Dominique. When Milliam stops breathing while knotted to the St. Andrews cross, CPR fails and Dominique panics. She fears for his legacy and the cops accepting his being her willingly sex slave. As his death brings his world of intrigue especially with Cuba into her dungeon, Milliam's security expert Reynolds Graham helps her navigate the dangerous international tsunami; but he is also a peril to her heart.

There are more descriptions of child abuse, which I found disturbing to include in an "erotic thriller". It's a misleading description to be an erotic thriller. Including someone's details of disturbing childhood, does not add anything except and perhaps takes away from the dominatrix's power.

The storytelling is really bad. I'm guessing this is a publisher that caters to people that want to publish their own book and no editing?

Over halfway through and there seems to be one erotic scene and excessive flashbacks of childhood trauma. I stopped reading the book because it was all over the place, and I've been more engaged with the writing in my TV manual.
